Emergency First Aid
at Work +F

This course is suitable for those who work in a forestry environment and meets the requirements for the Forestry Commission. It covers the same subjects as the Emergency First Aid at Work course but has extra subjects to meet the potential injuries a person may come across in forestry environments.


Course content:

       



·  Role of a first aider

·  Equipment

·  Recording incidents and accidents

·  Prevent Cross Infection

·  To act safe, prompt and effectively in an emergency

·  To deal with an unconscious casualty (including seizures)

·  To perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

·  Automated External Defibrillator (AED) awareness

·  Choking

·  Shock, wounds and bleeding

·  Minor injuries (including small cuts, grazes, minor burns and splinters)

·   Haemostatic dressings and tourniquets

·   Bites & Stings

·   Lyme Disease

·   Poisoning

·   Anaphylactic Shock

·   Hypothermia

·   Crush Injuries

·   Suspension Trauma

Certification

Successful candidates will receive an approved First Aid Industry Body (FAIB) Emergency First Aid at Work + F certificate issued by Wiltshire First Aid Training. This qualification is compliant with the Forestry Commission and is valid for three years.

Assessment

The trainer will assess learners' competence on a practical informal basis as well as a written multiple choice test paper.


Maximum course numbers

In-house courses, a minimum of 5 candidates and a maximum of 24 candidates (provided there is enough room). 2 trainers will be provided for larger numbers.
